The first official day we got there we finished the tear out of the the half wall and pantry. John's Brother Ryan, who himself is in the middle of finishing his basement, took time to come and pitch in with the demo. Within an hour we got the wall down and started ripping up the old viynl flooring and floor boards. That in it's self was a very tedius job for John, his Dad, and his brothers. John's best buddy Derek came that evening for the extra help we needed.
John's Dad was wonderful enough to also take two days off to come help the cause. He was able to help John move our Water and gas lines, which was a very big job. I definitely can't do it justice just blogging about it. It was a very big blessing, and we want him to know how grateful we are for him and his skills. He also helped us with our electrical as well. With our house being well over 50yrs old, the electrical was as old and scary as you can imagine. If you went up to our attic or down into our crawl space you would see the tangled mess of our electrical. So you can imagine the extent of a job John and his dad had cut out for them with tearing out the old and rewiring the new. Their was no method or organization to the old wiring, therefore the frustration level over the few days was at an all time high. Thankfully we all handle it well and got the job done...But there's always the unexpected right!

I think it looks great and so open. What a mess, but I think it was worth it.
