Kitchen Remodel~ Our First Set Back

John was busy installing canned lights and wiring in our attic this day. He had been working on this all day and was nearing the end of the day. Nicole and Justin had stopped by to see what help they could offer. As John got up into the Attic to wire up some lights he put is weight on to one beam and suddenly the old sheet rock, that was only being held up by very small nails that were few and in between, gave way and fold down away from the beams. With half of the sheet rock hanging, John tried to attempt to quickly screw it back up to the beams. With every screw he put in the sheet rock just wouldn't grip it. The combination of old sheet rock and an un-level ceiling caused the sheet rock to crumble, forcing us to cut down the whole of the fallen piece, but with that came the old insulation. The dust and smell were overwhelming, and the itchy eyes and skin began.

Nicole stayed and helped us clean up every bit of it.

And obviously this is the after picture once the new sheets were up.

Once the mess was cleaned next came the Tile floors. We had decide to continue the pattern of tile that we have in our entry way. We knew that the edging and such would be a pain, but well worth it.

MAN! That looks like a LOT of work. The tile looks awesome, though. I'm sure the kitchen will be fabulous once it's all done! :D
