Front yard project #2 ~Phase 1-Leveling the Ground

So we are keeping up momentum on our getting our Front Yard the way we would like it to look before it gets too hot outside to want to work on it! This next project is taking the Ugly, odd triangle that I'm guessing was once an attempt at a flower garden and leveling it out and building a small 8x12' deck. I like the idea of having this small deck to socialize on and to watch the beautiful sunsets that we see almost every night, And because the front of our house faces west and we are located at the top of a heel we can see the sunsets really well!

So here is the Progress so far!!! We shovelled and picked up all the dirt and rocks, Which is quite the improvement because we had a lot of dirt and Rocks to haul out of this small area. The rocks that outlined this area crumbled when you tried picking them up, so it was a pain to get them all out. We even used a lot of dirt from this area to build up the new flower bed that we just finished putting together, and it didn't hardly make a dent it the dirt level at all! We also were able to transport most if not all the dirt from this are in the front to fill in completely some large holes we had in the backyard and some holes on the side of our driveway! I was surprised to see that much dirt come out of this little area.

Do you see Braxton in the corner playin in Daddys drinking water...He loves his water.





Since this is just the start of this fun project I'll put more posts up as we get the deck up (which may not be till after the new baby gets here)But watch for the progress...
