Saturday night was the ending of Orem city's Summer Fest. John and I didn't really take part in much of the activities through out the few days it was being held, but he didn't want to miss out on the last night when the fireworks took place. Driving down state st. and Center st. proved to be a chanllenge because of the roads by the city buildings and park were closed for the parade, carnival, and fireworks. Every Business parking lot was jam packed and that was including the side of the streets. So my husband came up with a great idea. Across the street from the Super Target on Center st. is an empty lot that they use at Christmas time as a tree lot. We drove past it at a quarter to nine and it was completely empty. Because there was some rocky dirt piles, we knew that only a small portion of the empty lot would fill up with cars. Perfect opportunity for John to use his muscle of a truck and do a little off roading. John grabbed the carseat and folding chairs, and I grabbed treats and blankets. We threw it all in the back of Johns Beast (his massive lifted red neck truck, that we love) and drove to the best and highest spot in the empty lot we could find! We set up the chairs right in the back of the truck and enjoyed some family time together while we waited for the fireworks to start at 10pm. It was really awesome to watch them from the comfort of the truck, and it was certainly a great memory that we have decided to try to recreate every year. I hope our kids like this tradition.
These were taken with John's phone because we forgot the Camera. But if it looks wide it's because I am wide. Glories of Pregnancy.
Sounds like you guys had fun. That would have been fun in the back of John's truck. I miss you guys already, how is Jaiden doing, and Braxton's cough?? :(
