Daddy's Missionary Ties & Our Future Missionaries!

John, through out his mission, managed to collect an entire suit case full of all sorts of ties! Mind you not all are attractive, in fact most are just plain ugly!~ But I was astonished at the amount of ties that came bursting out when he unzipped it! They came flowing, almost crawling out of the suite case as if they had been needing air, and space due to over crowding! We haven't counted them but he was pretty sure he had collected over 600! It just became one of those weird obsessions of his while on his mission, and any member that found out he collected them was happy to donate a few to the cause so he had plenty of stories behind a good chunk of them!

For the past 4yrs John's mom has been asking him to go through them and take the ones he wants to keep to wear, and she was then going to take the remainder and make a "Tie" quilt out of them. But after 4yrs of asking and John not doing anything about it she started to threaten to just take the whole suite case and start the quilt, despite John wanting to keep some. John only took her seriously half the time. Till finally one night this past weekend he noticed she had put that suite case with the rest that would be traveling back to Vegas with them. He knew then she was serious and grabbed it with the promise of going through it this weekend so she could have it back before they headed to Vegas on Monday!

While going through it, of course Braxton was totally interested, and as john pulled tie upon tie out of the suite case he would occasionally throw one around Braxton's neck and say "there you go missionary." It was so ironic and sweet for me to hear and see that because without even being of the age for a missionary, he is already so much of a missionary to me and his dad! The innocence he has radiates through him and brings us the greatest of joys! knowing how precious a gift that the lord had given us. Plus we hope very deeply that he will have a desire to serve a mission when He is old enough and ready! I couldn't resist taking pictures of Braxton playing in the ties, then just had to throw Jaiden in there too with his brother!
